After leaving the Coromandel Peninsula, we shot over to the west coast, south of Auckland, to Raglan. It is famed for being quite the surf break with the longest left hand point break in the world...when it's working. It was small surf when we were here, but absolutely beautiful. And the size of waves was perfect for me to learn to surf. So, I guess the surfboard is officially mine now since I have ridden it! I have a very, very long way to go, but I am excited about the next time out in the water instead of being too scared to try again, so that's a start!! Thanks to Peter for my very first lesson in Costa Rica, I had a head start on my second lesson from Terry!!!
As for the images, it's pretty much all about the beach. Terry's first surf in a while, so he was pretty excited about getting to Raglan, which is an internationally renowned surf spot. If the swell is right, it can be the longest left-hand point break in the world. A bit small for our visit but he still had fun...
