Next, we made it south back through Auckland and east towards Coromandel, a thumb-like peninsula east of Auckland. The Coromandel Range bisects the entire peninsula, it is considered the spine of the peninsula. I am including a map of the North Island so that you can tell where we are. It was still raining, but we found the most amazing camping park on the beach in Opoutere, southeastern coast of Coromandel. An amazing forest of tall green pines with a perfectly soft carpet of red pine needles beneath your feet while heading barefoot to the beach... What a combination!!! It was rainy, foggy, and dramatic. It would be amazing to see in the sun... I also included some photos of our custom decal job on the van... more additions to come!
